Checkbot for Autodesk Advance Steel is an application for automated steel connection design as per AISC, Eurocode, etc. You can select any number of connections in Advance Steel, load them and code-check them in one go. You get a clear pass/fail checks for all your connections and can optimize them quickly.
Checkbot is activated in seconds
Checkbot for Advance Steel is an easy-to-install plugin you can download from Autodoesk App Store or IDEA StatiCa website. It automatically integrates into the ribbon of your Advance Steel. The calculation itself is done using a scalable set of cloud servers to handle simple as well as a robust set of connections.
Select multiple connections in one click
Drag over connections you want to code-check. Checkbot automatically selects corresponding nodes, members, and connection components like bolts and welds. You see the list of connections in the Checkbot window.
Full control for all stakeholders
Each connection managed in Checkbot is synced with the connection in Advance Steel. As you go through the list of the connections in the Checkbot, the respective Advance Steel connection is highlighted. Checkbot enables you to move from a one-by-one connection design approach to working with groups and bulks of connections.
Load the connections easily
Define the load applied to each connection as % of member capacity. This is especially useful for a quick predesign and testing design assumptions. You can also use it to effectively identify the parts of the structure that can be optimized.
All code-checks right at hand
Checkbot gives you a list of all connections and indicates what was calculated and with what results as per code. Right away, you see overall code-checks for all the connections. Checkbot for Advance Steel represents a paradigm shift in connection design – it moves the laborious data process from desktop to scalable cloud. Checkbot brings the possibility of massive productivity gains for structural engineers and detailers involved in the design process.
Detailed results available if needed
If you want to investigate a particular connection, you can open it in the IDEA StatiCa Viewer and review all the assumptions of the calculation as well as detailed check results and stress/strain visualizations. You have your connections under control!
