Concrete slabs are critical elements in the construction process. They are designed to safely transfer loads and prevent damage to the structure. In this webinar, we will discuss slab design using Baumann's method from a practical perspective and the routine of a structural engineer.

Who is this webinar for?

This webinar is aimed at engineers, construction professionals, and anyone interested in structural analysis and concrete design tools. Newcomers are also welcome!

See Baumann's method in practice

The main goal of our job is to determine the internal forces within the structure's shells. The internal forces on slabs and walls are transformed according to Baumann's method into design internal forces, which depend on the angle specified by the user. These internal forces are then used as the input for the ULS and SLS assessments.

Typically, slabs are reinforced in the direction of the principal moments, but there may be cases where the direction of reinforcement deviates from the trajectory of the principal moments. This is especially true when reinforcing skewed slabs. This is because the reinforcement is quicker to assemble on the structure itself, which can sometimes lead to issues with crack width.
