In 1965, Mr Nge Kan Pan set up Kong Hwee Iron Works & Construction Pte Ltd, a traditional family-owned steel contractor. That was also the time when many companies in Singapore were merely getting by, and the age of agriculture didn’t see much demand for building.
Despite a slow start and a tough entrepreneurial journey, Kong Hwee overcame many challenges to become a major metalwork and structural steelwork fabricator in Singapore.
Presently, Kong Hwee’s headquarter in Singapore covers 12,000 square metres land area, which includes a 3-storey manufacturing space with a total floor area of 17,000 square metres and nine storeys of office space. We also have a manufacturing plant in Malaysia, covering 40,000 square metres.
As Kong Hwee grows, we continue to progress towards high-tech automation, improve our management systems and empower our people.
We understand that only with constant improvement can Kong Hwee continue to shine for the next 50 years and beyond.
