Finite element model of a base plate

The base plate, as well as other parts of a joint in IDEA StatiCa, is based on the finite element model. This means more realistic behavior contrary to analytical, component-based models. The contact between the base plate and the concrete block is modeled as nonlinear and there is praying induced in the base plate, which raises the tension forces in anchors.
